Access to a unique craft collection. . .
You will find a list of makers represented within each discipline on the individual collections pages of the Centre’s website. A proportion of the collections is available to view online either via the VADS website (for objects and archives) or the Archives Hub website (for archives only). Please note that this does not include anything acquired in the past 15 years. If you cannot find what you are looking for, or require any further assistance, please contact the Curator (details below).
We are committed to serious research in the field of 20th century and contemporary British crafts. The museum includes dedicated research facilities in the Research Room.
Access to the collections is by appointment only and is subject to availability (please allow at least two weeks notice).
Appointments are available during the Crafts Study Centre’s normal weekday opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 5pm. (Please note the Research Room closes for lunch).
Access to our research facilities is free, although there may be a small charge for group visits.
Group research visits are limited to ten persons.
To focus your research please visit our collections pages and online catalogues.
To book an appointment please contact the Curator, Zoe Hendon.
