Popular ceramic maker Jenny Southam specialises in hand built decorative sculptures using red earthenware terracotta clay decorated with coloured slips and oxides. Her work grows out of rituals and relationships within a domestic setting which broaden into more generic statements. She is interested in the interface between a sculptural vocabulary and traditional ceramic figurative work.
