CRAFT AND FUTURE INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE

30 MARCH 2023, WEST DEAN COLLEGE

Acknowledging that craft practice is often placed within the context of the past, when time was taken to make an object by hand, the conference builds on this deep relationship between craft and Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Intangible cultural heritage is the knowledge, words, traditions and practices that shape the physical world of artefacts and structures that we more commonly regard as heritage assets. Post-covid we are re-examining our relationships with the real and the digital and this challenges the dividing line first defined by UNESCO.
