Yida was inspired by Audrey Blackman’s ceramic figures. Her figures range from dancers, sportsmen and animals, caught in action as though by some three-dimensional camera, to groups which comment on contemporary life and attitudes – often with humour, and sometimes with pathos.

Combining her own experience, Yida sought to express the feelings that life brings her in the form of art. The concept comes from heart disease. The blood vessels that cling to the organs are entangled and maintain the normal energy needed by the body.
